Much has been written lately about the More Than Magic contest hosted by Romance Writers Ink Chapter of RWA and the changing of the rules, stating that MTM will no longer accept same-sex entries in any category.
It can't have come as a surprise that authors and readers alike were outraged by your decision. But I fully support your efforts to accommodate your jury members who feel "uncomfortable" with GLBT themes, and hope you won't bow down to pressure and reinstate the original rules.
Because I much prefer that people like you are honest. Be open about your homophobia! Wear your badge of narrow-minded stupidity with pride! That way, authors will know right away who they are dealing with, and won't be lured into giving you their hard-earned money. You'll eventually get extinct like the dinosaurs, but with a bit of luck, you won't leave any lasting imprints.
By the way I'm not surprised to see that you've thrown your toys out of the pram and gone home now rather than facing the music. It's probably for the better, though - I don't know if people who can't tell the difference between "not accepting m/m" and "not accepting YA" are fit to judge books in the first place.
Not much love, and definitely no respect
PS: dear fellow authors, I understand that it's important to see your name on the member lists of certain organisations. But this one? I think you can do without.
